Dr. Torsten Walter and Alf Hackenberg founded SANTO MOBILITY in 2020.
After a successful project collaboration in which both developed a modular First Class Railway Seat, they decided to join forces and combine their longtime experience from the automotive industry, the engineering competence as well as the proven design excellence in an innovative Full- Service Mobility Consultancy.

Torsten is the technology and management head of the company with longterm and substantial experience in high volume program management in the mobility business.
He studied mechanical engineering with a focus in production- and quality-management at the TU Berlin. He researched at the Fraunhofer Institute IPK Berlin on the field of Successful Introduction of Lean Production and Toyota Production System with different industrial partners.
After his PhD he started his industrial career at BMW AG in Munich as Head of Quality for the Technology Planning (FIZ) in the Press works division introducing new quality management in processes from design to manufacturing.
Torsten has been responsible in different lead functions for Strategy and Operational Excellence Projects for the BMW Group. After 12 years he switched to the Supplier side where he has been responsible as Group Director for Product and Business Development and for establishing a new Mobility Division of a big international Interior Supplier. With his agile team he transformed big volume programs from design to manufacturing all the way to a successful SOP for international OEMs.
Alf Hackenberg

Alf Hackenberg is the creative head of the company.
He studied Industrial Design at University of Arts in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany and started his carrier in the US working as an industrial designer for the Strategic Design Consultancy ziba Design in Portland, OR.
Always fascinated about transportation and future mobility solution he joined the BMW Designworks team in Munich in 2001.
In 2003 he started his own business and founded the multiple, internationally awarded Design Consultancy SIGNCE Design. Ever since Alf Hackenberg has been working self-employed as Founder, CEO and Creative Director for several Strategic Design Consultancies, always focusing on research, strategy and product development.
As the CEO of the European subsidiary of TEAGUE Design in Munich, he has been responsible for setting up the aviation department.
Since 2013 he is operating under his own name as AHACKENBERG DESIGN.
During his carrier Alf Hackenberg has been and is still successfully running strategic product development projects for companies such as BMW, DB, Emirates, Leitner Ropeways and many more.
